City of Del Mar - The City of Del Mar website has a welth of community information. Among other thisngs, it provides a very good historical background of Del Mar. For example, in 1882, the new route from San Diego to San Bernardino was started by the Southern California Railroad. Several years later, the South Coast Land Company eventually built a new hotel called the Stratford Inn. From the moment it opened its doors in 1910, the hotel became a focal point of town and a magnet for Hollywood stars.
Del Mar Village Association - The City of Del Mar is a small, seaside community just north of La Jolla in San Diego. Subsequently, Del Mar has become one of the nations most popular tracks. And the Del Mar track stadium is home to many concerts and other events year round.
San Diego County Fair at Del Mar - Some prominent San Diego and Del Mar residents organized an agricultural fair back in 1880 to attract farmers from throughout San Diego County together for the first San Diego County Fair. Subsequently, the San Diego County Fair has been held annually with a few exceptions in various county locations until 1936, when it moved to its present Del Mar Fairgrounds.
